Families of Kenyans jailed in Ethiopia plead for government help

The Ministry of foreign affairs stands accused of neglecting the interests of Kenyan citizens locked up in foreign countries over flimsy charges. This follows the story of Zakari Muriuki a kenyan citizen who was allegedly arrested in Ethiopia two years ago and died in an Ethiopian jail.

Families of Kenyans jailed in the country say numerous applications were made to the ministry of foreign affairs in futility. Its has now emerged that more kenyans are held in separates prisons in Ethiopia.

The Government has since said that investigations are underway to establish the cause of the death and is working to secure release of the other kenyans in jail.
